Japanese Music...

I added a music player (I know Apocalyptica isn't Japanese, but I just couldn't resist). I also found out that I cannot change the order of the playlist withougt making a whole new playlist =\ Which made me somewhat sad because they're just in the order I searched them...

Anyways...Most people that are in to Japanese music like it because it was the opening/ending theme for an anime they watched...Some people go a little farther, while others actually heard the music first and got into anime later (which would be me - lol) :)

AMV's

What exactly are AMV's? Well, they're usually classified as fan-made videos for animes - where the film maker edits pieces of the show into a short film and puts it to music (or vice versa). I dislike when AMVs are used to make the show seem not at all like how it is...Or when they make Yaoi or Yuri couples where there are none... :(
I am still all right with them (to a point) if they are very well edited and fit the music :)

Welcome to Otaku Life by Karin (that's me - lol)
I love anime/manga & pretty much anything Japan-related :) {so music too, & culture kind of}

I can only write about anime I have seen & manga I have read, so it's accurately spelled out from my point of view. I will only make recomendations after I have finished all the episodes or volumes of the series. (If it is an on-going series I will try my best to make recommendations off of the latest episode or volume I have seen or read)

The age-ratings I may include next to some titles are simply guidelines, and you should always try to read up a little on any anime or manga before you watch or read it if you are younger than the age recommendation. Mainly I say this because some people are more mature than others and therefore do not always need to abide by the age guidelines...That said, some people are more tolerant of violence/gore/horror-related-stuff than others...

If I include an asterisk (or star as some call it): *
then it is because the rating greatly depends on your views...Some anime/manga are good, but have questionable elements that some viewers may not like...So the ones with a "star" (*) are "watch at your own risk"...

I'll also talk about Japanese music (mainly J-Rock/Visual Kei/Nu Metal - and sometimes Hello Project! groups as well) :)
I may take the time to write some cultural notes, but it all depends on how much time I have.
